PRODUCT DETAIL
Vitamin B12 is one of the most important vitamins required for the overall health of livestock animals. Deficiency in vitamin B12 results in a decreased amount of cobalt in the body. All ruminants and poultry require a sufficient amount of cobalt in their diet to grow and develop rapidly. Sheep require more vitamin B than cattle, especially in young animals and wearers that go through rapid growth.
One of the most common symptoms of vitamin B deficiency is reduced food intake due to reduced appetite. Anemia is also common in animals that suffer from vitamin B deficiency. They may develop scaly ears due to insufficient vitamin B12.
In sheep, the deficiency is more pronounced as you can notice weepy eyes with matted wool just below the eyes. Wool can sometimes break in severe cases. Ewes with vitamin B12 deficiency give birth to small and weak lambs.
In cattle, the deficiency of this essential vitamin results in reduced milk production. Calves show signs of scours. Pica or depraved appetite will be noticeable in cattle. Instead of eating forage and cattle feed, the cattle may start eating leaves, bark, or dirt. Simply adding vitamin B12 supplements to the diet can help you to overcome this problem.
Vitamin B12 Supplement For Cattle And Poultry Deals With Stress Problems
Stress in animals is common as they don’t roam around freely in livestock farming. They are forced to grow within enclosed spaces, which limits their space. They often want to get out and move around, which is not possible in livestock farming. Cattle are allowed outside for grazing, but they also suffer from stress.
In poultry, stress is caused due to the chemicals in the food. Also, chickens need to be vaccinated to reduce the occurrence of diseases. This results in animal stress. Debeaking is crucial to growing chicken in poultry farming. It also adds to the stress of the animals. Deworming is also important as it protects the birds from various illness-causing bacteria. In cattle, psychological stress can manifest as physical problems. Fear in cattle due to improper handling is common in young calves. They generate heat while digesting food. Changes in the weather conditions also cause heat stress. In India, extreme summer temperatures cause heat stress in cattle.
A regular supply of Revita vitamin B12 supplements in the feed will alleviate all types of stress symptoms in cattle and poultry. Revita is even more important for sheep as the sheep show a greater need for vitamin B12. Young weaners suffer from vitamin B12 deficiency in the early days of weaning because only colostrum contains vitamin B12 and not regular milk. Apart from overcoming stress, Revita also helps in overall growth and development by boosting the immune system.
