Feed Supplements and It’s Importance

Feed supplements are always in demand in Goa to cater to ever growing tourism industry.  Being one of the favorite vacation spots both nationally and internationally, seafood and other dairy and meat products are always in demand.  The addition of feed supplements along with regular feed necessarily makes a difference in the livestock’s health, well-being, and productivity. Better nutrition, improved disease resistance, milk production enhancement, and better growth and reproduction can be achieved through the addition of balanced feed supplements in the regular feed of cattle, poultry, fish, and livestock. To suffice high-quality milk, eggs, seafood, and other products like wool due to the tourism industry, and demand for healthy and productive cattle, poultry, fish, horses, and livestock is also increasing. Despite being aggressive in the agricultural sector and owning fertile land, Goa is always in requirement of additional feed supplements.

Knowing the benefits of cattle feed supplements, the government is also encouraging the use of cattle feed supplements through various schemes and subsidies and is also propagating knowledge about the benefits of these supplements to the relevant population. These feed supplements are used regularly as they provide essential nutrients like proteins, vitamins, and minerals which are not always available in sufficient quantities in natural feed fed to them. Usage of these supplements results in improved milk yield, growth rates, and overall health of cattle, poultry, fish, and livestock, thereby increasing the profitability of farming in the state. Thus, it is important to have healthy and productive livestock; and the well-being of livestock depends on the feed they are fed and the nutrients they are fed along with the regular feed.
